What makes a bestseller? It\u2019s not the quality of writing. It\u2019s how many copies it sells.<\/p>\n
If a book is marketed well, published at the right time, and becomes a bestseller, we assume that it is some inherent quality of the text. Let\u2019s stop here and now and accept the definition of a bestseller: it sells. The writer in me cringes to write this.\u00a0After all, what makes a good book should be the storytelling skills of the wordsmith. I\u2019m not saying all bestseller are not well-written books, but I think the publishing game is rigged.<\/p>\n
Our society chose to define bestseller as well written. It should be the other way around. A well-written book should redefine society and changes us at a fundamental level.<\/p>\n
