Learning Resources for Writers

There are many approaches in educating or assisting writers in their journey. We found a coaching service for writers today that we like and, very important also has good reviews: First Book Coaching

My name is Max Gorlov, I’m based in East London, and I’m working closely with a handful of writers to help them finish fantastic first books. I’ve been writing short stories and longer fiction for about a decade, and my debut manuscript was scouted by a number of agencies here in the UK. Now I’m reaching back and helping writers on their journeys to finish first novels that they’re happy with.

Services description:

We’ll work one-on-one together to develop, draft, and finish your book. Starting by setting up a routine to help you write regularly, I’ll guide you step-by-step through creating your characters and plot.
Along the way you’ll get close feedback on the page to lift the quality of the writing and ensure that it’s all flowing well. I’ll be sure to hold you accountable, and keep you motivated, until you’re holding a finished book with your name on it.

Testimonials:

Max has been instrumental in helping me develop my plot and write consistently. When we first started working together, I had an idea and 12,000 words written after six months. After six weekly sessions, I’ve got 30,000 words and the plot is starting to come together. Working with Max on character development has also significantly enhanced the story and made the characters more dynamic. I’m enjoying this process and I look forward to where this journey takes us.

I highly recommend this service. I was stuck and directionless before. Not to mention very undisciplined before taking advantage of it. I was struggling with what direction to take my book in and the service gave me a clear, detailed direction and focus. The biggest benefit is that after each session, you will feel inspired and motivated to keep on writing and that carries over into your schedule. The service works WITH you to create your vision without micromanaging or telling you no. It is very much for the writer. I am more than satisfied with this service and would give it 5/5 stars.

Is writing a great book an act of magic or a triumph over chaos?

With Asengana, it's both. Welcome to a place where the enchantment of storytelling meets the mastery of organized creativity.

Boost Your Productivity, Ignite Your Creativity

Writing a book is a journey. It will engage your time, your mind, and, hopefully, your soul. Unless you’re fully committed to writing, you will be less successful in your endeavors.

Start a short story, novella, or novel. Do your research. Create your outline, synopsis, and manuscript structure. Write. Use a Kanban to manage your time and your progress. Create your eBook. Publish, market, and sell it. Start the next one.

Stay Organized and Monitor Your Progress

Having all your research organized and at your fingertips will make a world of difference. As a writer, you’re the master of your own discipline. Maintaining a steady pace can be challenging, but with the right tools, it becomes a fulfilling venture.

The word count is a simple and effective way to track progress. Use a Burndown Chart to track your daily progress and estimate the daily word count you need to reach your deadline.

Enhance Characters, Enrich Locations, and Craft Compelling Outlines

Creating well-rounded characters and employing a sensory map for your locations can significantly elevate your character development and scene settings, enriching your entire novel.
Gaining a clear understanding of your plot points and having the flexibility to adapt the structure of your manuscript as needed, fosters a sense of freedom within a structured framework.

Your Comprehensive Creative Writing Companion – From Concept to eBook

Streamline your workflow and amplify your writing output. Bring your ideas to life wherever inspiration strikes. Harness structured creativity fostered by productive grit, paving a clear path from brainstorming to drafting.
